The Patchwork Festival, which was to be held from 12 to 15 March, is being postponed due to the current Coronavirus situation and the recent notifications issued this afternoon by the Government of the Generalitat.

The Spanish Patchwork Association, in charge of organizing the Patchwork Festival, together with the City Council of Sitges, have decided to postpone the event to a new date. The decision was made after the Government of the Generalitat announced on Wednesday the new measures in light of the situation caused by the Coronavirus, which obliges to postpone or suspend all events with a capacity of more than 1,000 people in open spaces. or closed.

The Festival was to be held from 12 to 15 March with 116 exhibitors. Now the organization and the City Council are working to find a new date for the contest that could be next fall.

The Patchwork trade fair with 4 tents occupies a total of 2,250 m² on the Paseo de la Ribera. Apart from the Trade Fair, the Festival also had 7 exhibition spaces such as the Miramar Cultural Center, Escorxador, Can Falç, Pere Stämpfli Cultural Space, Vidal Studio, Ave Maria Foundation and Hotel Calipolis, and monographic courses given by international and national masters , as well as children’s workshops.

In parallel, the City Council is working to postpone or cancel the events planned in the coming days.
