Sitges 2012 Original Swing comes to town to experience the Jazz & Dancing of the 1930’s and 40’s.
Three wonderful days full of emotion, music & dance. With the opportunity to learn from talented teachers.
An experience to remember & treasure, with a unique opportunity to experience the swing scene in local surroundings.
Featuring national and international professors who teach classes with live music.

The Original Swing Sitges offers , a unique opportunity to learn the swing scene Catalan.

PD: To assist to the parties it is necessary to be dying to dance SWING!
Choose Your Dance Level (all accepted)
| Beginners | It is thought for people who have never danced or have started to dance Lindy Hop. |
| Beginners –Intermediate | Thought for people who started to dance Lindy Hop for 3 – 6 months. |
| Intermediate | For those people who started to dance Lindy Hop for one year. |
| Intermediate –Advanded | It is recommended to people who have more than two years of experience in Lindy Hop. |
| Advanced | For those people who started to dance Lindy Hop for more than 3 years. Registration only on Lindyhop.cat dance school or the day of the event. |
Here are the options to enrol for the “Sitges Original Swing Festival 2012”:
FULL PACK: It allows you to do all the morning lessons, the evening conferences and workshops and all the night parties.
MORNINGS PACK: It allows you to do all the morning lessons and all the night parties.
EVENING PACK: It allows you to do all the evening conferences and workshops and all the night parties.
PARTIES PACK: It allows you to do all the night parties.
Lessons
The Festival is divided in three parts: morning, evening and night. In each part of the day there are different activities. We show the
Morning: Four hours each day distributed in:
– Lindy Hop
– Fast Lindy and Aerials
– Musicality (there will be live music)
– Style for man and woman
The groups are reduced in order to guarantee the quality of the sessions. In these lessons there will be a translator to help to follow them perfectly.
Evening (conferences and workshops):
– Boogie Woogie
– Authentic Jazz & Charleston solo
– Hairdresser
– Pin Up make-up
– Big screen to watch the football match FC Barcelona- RCD Espanyol
(the timetable of the match won’t be known until 15 days before the Festival)
– Casino games
– Seminar about “The evolution of the swing music”
– Seminar about “The swing competition in the forties and nowadays”
– Pilates on the beach
At night there will be competitions related in the seminars and workshops realised in the afternoon. Every competition will have prizes for the winners. Will one be you?
Night (three hours of dancing, competitions and good environment):
There will be three bands that they will let us live the best evenings at rhythm of swing. Every night we will be able to dance since 22h to 02h. And the first night we will drink a cava flute to welcome the S.O.S. Festival in the “Palau Maricel” of Sitges.

Sitges Original Swing 2012 arriba al municipi per recordar els anys 30 i 40
La Societat Recreativa El Retiro acollirà el Sitges Original Swing que comptarà amb professors nacionals i internacionals que impartiran classes amb música en viu.
L’estètica, la música i el ball dels anys 30 i 40 arriba un any més amb el Sitges Original Swing, que se celebrarà entre els dies 4 i 6 de maig. El Festival, organitzat per la Societat Recreativa El Retiro, busca reviure l’esperit d’aquest ball amb professors internacionals i amb música en viu.
Més enllà de les classes, que s’impartiran dissabte i diumenge, i de les diferents activitats, com perruqueria i maquillatge dels anys 30 i 40, les nits de divendres, dissabte i diumenge se celebraran festes temàtiques als jardins del Retiro, amb la música en directe de tres bandes de swing. A més, Ricard Gili, membre fundador de la prestigiosa Big Band La Locomotora Negra impartirà un seminari sobre jazz.
El Festival està pensat per satisfer les necessitats de tots els ballarins, des dels que es volen iniciar en el swing fins a aquells més experimentats. Principalment s’oferiran classes de Lindy Hop en grups reduïts, Boogie Woogie, Aeris i Charleston. El Sitges Original Swing ofereix professors qualificats per a tots el nivells, en una oportunitat única per conèixer el panorama swing català.
Les persones interessades en participar disposen de diferents opcions d’inscripció, des del pack complet fins el de festes passant pel bonus de tardes o de matins.
