Founded in 1989 by the Russian choreographer and ballet dancer Timur Fayziev, the Moscow Ballet is made up of some of the most outstanding ballet dancers and choreographers in Russian ballet, from such companies as the Bolshoi and the Stanislavski, and is currently one of the most important companies in the country.

Since its foundation, they have staged more than a thousand performances and have done more than sixty world tours including visits to Japan, China, Taiwan, Italy, Switzerland, England, and Spain. The superlative Rudolf Nureyev chose the company for his final European tour in 1991.

The Moscow Ballet has an extensive repertory, including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker Suite, Sleeping Beauty, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and its latest productions, Carmen and Don Quixote.
